Author Barry Hannah has died
Author Barry Hannah, whose fiction was laced with dark humor and populated by hard-drinking Southerners, died Monday at his home in Oxford, Miss. He was 67.

Former Secretary of State Alexander Haig has died
Alexander Haig, the former military officer, secretary of state and adviser to presidents, died Saturday, a Johns Hopkins Medical Center spokesman said.
